On April 30th, Hacking for Good is presenting “Staying Off the Hook: Practical Phishing Prevention” at Nonprofit Montgomery’s “Tech Cafe: Smart Tech for a Stronger Future”
This session explores the rapidly evolving landscape of phishing, giving nonprofit staff a clear understanding of
how modern attackers craft convincing messages using AI, social engineering, and real‑time data. Participants will
learn the psychological and technical tactics phishers rely on to prompt clicks from urgency cues to spoofed
identities, and walk through real‑world examples that illustrate how these schemes succeed. The workshop will
also introduce practical technical controls nonprofits can implement, such as email filtering, multifactor
authentication, and safe‑link protections, to reduce the likelihood of harmful clicks and strengthen overall
organizational resilience.
